The Abbey, has been an iconic historical landmark in Sydney's Inner West since 1881 that has shaped Annandale's community, its culture and history. It's gothic architecture goes behind gargoyles and stone walls each room intricately designed with purpose and wonder.
It still stands as a testament to time! And we are here to tell its story.
Shadows of the Abbey documentary will uncover all that speaks to this history — a journey into the life and legacy of John Young, his designs and desires of an elite society, and the mysteries that have surrounded this iconic estate for decades.
Through personal interviews of the descendants of the Young Family, previous Tenants, Owners, Historians, Architects, Expert Designers, Builders, Heritage Consultants, and Community Engagement, Shadows of the Abbey, aims to preserve this rich heritage for future generations.
